Applications for the Funza Lushaka bursary in 2010 are closed. The Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme is a multi-year programme that promotes teaching in public schools. Full-cost bursaries are available to enable eligible students to complete a full teaching qualification in an area of national priority. Recipients of these bursaries will be required to teach at a public school for the same number of years that they receive the bursary. |

Film Firms 'Face Closure' if SABC Stalls Further on Local Proposals |

Independent film and documentary producers have warned that they will be forced to close their doors if SABC’s new board does not soon issue proposals for new local programmes, as promised. The Television Industry Emergency Coalition said the new board, led by Ben Ngubane, had promised them in March that requests for proposals would be issued by the end of last month. |

All submissions to include approx. 200 word synopsis, 2 stills from the film & a complete filmography/biography of the director. Filmmakers must guarantee, that permission from the rights holder are secured for a minimum of five screenings at this Festival. |
