Editing Lecturer Position at AFDA |

AFDA (African School of Motion Picture and Live Performance) is looking for a passionate a full-time Editing Lecturer on our Cape Town Campus. An AFDA student film won the 2006 foreign student Oscar for best film and another has been nominated in the 2006 Cannes Festival
Duties:
- Prepare and facilitate editing workshops and other lectures
- Attend staff meetings.
- Deliver the required administrative work for the editing Department.
- Perform administrative tasks for learning department
- Co-ordinate the editing department
- Facilitate and perform audiovisual reproduction
- Manage archive
- Manage access to and use of editing facilities
- Lecture 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students in both practical and conceptual aspects of editing for film, documentary and other
- Supervise and/or mentor Honours students
- Set and assess tasks for all year groups
- Output research papers with the intention to publish
- Manage departmental budget
Requirements
- A relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
- Relevant practical editing experience
- Communication skills
- Administrative skills
- Flexibility/adaptability
- Willingness to adapt to AFDA's outcome-based pedagogy
- Ability to work co-operatively with other teaching staff
- Excellent time and deadline management skills
- A positive attitude
