South Africa’s drive to achieve 6% economic growth has been accompanied by increasing awareness of the importance of corporate social investment (CSI). Every year, M&G Media Limited encourages the growth of CSI spend through the renowned Investing in the Future Awards, which recognize and reward corporate best practice.

Categories

  • Investing in the Future Corporate Award -Projects that best demonstrate how a company has contributed to the well-being of our society (awarded to corporate CSI programmes; corporate foundations/ trusts; grantmaking bodies)
  • Investing in the Future Non-Profit-Organisation Award (NPO) -Projects that best demonstrate how an NPO has contributed to the well-being of our society (awarded to independent trusts and foundations, including foreign foundations and family trusts, community foundations and NGOs)
  • Investing in the Future Award for Best Corporate Employee Community Involvement Programme - This category aims to showcase examples of how companies are actively encouraging and supporting their employees to play a role in the community as part of their broader commitment to community upliftment and development (awarded to South African business)
  • Investing in the Future Enterprise Development Award - For public and private businesses that contribute to the growth of the economy by facilitating the entry of entrepreneurs into the economy.
  • Company Partnership Award - This is awarded to companies and organizations demonstrating effective business partnerships in various projects
  • Investing in Education Award - Projects and initiatives that demonstrate a company or organisation’s commitment to addressing the huge educational challenges facing South Africa, including outreach/ engagement in the area of higher education
  • Investing in Sports Development Award - South Africa’s sporting life is a source of national identity and great pride. Programmes/ projects that show a commitment to developmental change to the lives of the people of South Africa
  • Investing in Life Award - Corporate Award (Corporations and parastatals with HIV/ AIDS programmes)

NGO Award (HIV/ AIDS programmes)

  • Investing in Life – Most Innovative Award - Projects/ programmes that demonstrate innovation in their approach and reach

Who can enter?

  • Corporations with corporate social investment (CSI) programmes or corporate foundations
  • Independent foundations and trusts, community foundations, grantmaking non-governmental organizations (NGO) and trusts, family foundations and grantmaking trusts and private foundations.

Closing date for entries:
Friday, 4 July 2008
The final announcement will be made on Friday, 24 October 2008.
