The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (SACR) - Directorate Library and Archives Services The Department Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (SACR) would like to invite interested parties in the community such as schools, crèches, Non-Government Organizations (NGO’s), old age homes and others to come and select books earmarked for donations. The books are at the Germiston and Pretoria, East Lynne Provincial Regional Libraries Gauteng Provincial Library Services are donating books to communities from their previous regional libraries which are closing. You are welcome to select books at our Regional Libraries at Germiston and East Lynne, Pretoria.
At the East Lynne Regional Library there are mostly Adult English Fiction and Adult Non-Fiction books left.
At the Germiston Regional Library there are a variety of books left in all categories for children, youth and adults.
The books can be selected at the following addresses:
Germiston: 2 Bapaume Road Delville North (behind the Hermann Immelman Stadium)
Pretoria, East Lynne: Cnr Swaan and Kriel Streets
What to do: - Please make an appointment with Ms Friena Diepraam, Tel 011 355-2535 OR 084-851-3270
- You will be asked to complete a form on behalf of your organisation.
- You may select any and as many books as you wish. One catalogue card from each book must be kept for our records.
- Please bring your own boxes so that you can take your selected books back with you.
- Since there are a large number of books, please be prepared to come for the whole day. The library at East Lynne and Germiston opens at 8h00 and closes at 16h00 but the doors close at 14h00 as the whole process takes time to complete.
- Please do not bring small children with you.
