Study Criticises Laptops for Children Scheme

 The "One Laptop per Child" (OLPC) scheme, which has sent over a million US$100 laptops to children in the developing world, has been criticised by researchers who found that, unless they are introduced with care, they become little more than distracting toys in the classroom.

New Strategy for South African Higher Education

This is the first Strategic Plan tabled in the National Assembly by the new Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). It represents considerable work undertaken by a department that is in the process of being established.
